About
Greenheart is a symbol of our love and respect for planet Earth and its inhabitants. It is also a philosophy that everyone can adopt by living a more sustainable and compassionate life. The present Greenheart movement consists of six main projects that promote sustainable living, conscious consumerism, ethical travel, cultural exchange, social transformation, and nature inspired music. These projects are:
- Casita Verde
- Greenheart Shop
- Greenheart Travel
- Center for Cultural Interchange
- Greenheart Transforms
- Greenheart Music
In 1998 the green heart was adopted as the symbol for the environmental endeavors of the Casita Verde eco center in Ibiza, Spain, which serves as the flagship for the Greenheart movement in Europe. Other Greenheart projects followed with Greenheart Music, the Greenheart Guide to Ibiza and Formentera, the Resonancia children’s education program and the first Greenheart Shop. In 2004, Greenheart was brought to the United States through the Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI). CCI adopted the Greenheart movement as its environmental and social initiative, offering Greenheart volunteer programs to over 8,000 exchange students. In 2007, Greenheart Travel was formed and the Greenheart Shop in Chicago, IL was opened. In 2008, Greenheart Transforms became the latest extension of the Greenheart movement by offering meditations, lectures, and retreats associated with social transformation.
The people of Greenheart include the volunteers and employees associated with the six main projects, as well as the countless individuals around the world who think, act and live in harmony with nature and each other.
