Ibiza Conference on Climate Change
May 19th to 25th: Greenheart is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a state-of-the-art eco-exhibition in Ibiza Town open to all within Climate Change Week, organised with Ibiza's council around the international congress titled 'World Heritage, Tourism and Climate Change. Sharing knowledge and good practices'.Click here for the Press Release and full details (.doc)

The congress itself will take place on 21st, 22nd and 23rd of May, 2008 in Ibiza Town.
This congress comes as a further step in the work carried out by Eivissa’s Tourism and Culture Observatory, following the debate on the 'Tourism Model for Eivissa' (May 2006) and the subsequent congress on 'The Tourism Model for the Mediterranean Coast. A case study: Ibiza' (30 November, 1 and 2 December 2007), as well as the cycle of conferences 'Encounters with Ibiza’s Tourism' (January – November 2007).
The next congress will be open to the public and the media, with the participation of Spanish and international experts. There will be various round tables, conferences and a variety of leisure and cultural activities throughout the city.
The city of Eivissa / Ibiza, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999 under Biodiversity and Culture, is working to evaluate the possible physical impact of Climate Change on our Cultural Heritage and on Marine Biodiversity, as well as its effect on daily life in the city, for example, on economy, culture, etc. and particularly on its citizens’ welfare.
We are in the midst of a scientific debate about Climate Change, with debates and congresses being held all around the world. We therefore believe that it is necessary to share the technical knowledge that is generated and advance in terms of proposals for the future planning and management of local policies to help minimise the impact, adapting to changes and reducing the emission of pollutants.
Greenheart expects to be actively collaborating in the events and we shall publish more details and how you can get involved on this website page soon.
