Maria Peppermint
Maria starts her Ibiza 'back to the roots' love story more than 30 years ago. She joined Friends of the Earth in 1989.
In 1990, she opened Peppermint, an alternative eco-shop, where people could sell or exchange second-hand goods, send mail and faxes and have most of their problems resolved.
Actively involved in humanitarian work abroad and locally, she is a member of the 'Fons Pitius de Cooperación' and raises funds for two N.G.Os, one in Tibet and one in Africa.
For the past 6 years she has travelled every winter spreading the Greenheart message together with the Greenheart iconic hearts in many parts of the world.
She joined the GH family in 2006, sharing her shop with the 'Fundación por el Futuro' that supports GH activities.
In its first year the GH shop has offered a selection of fair trade clothes and accessories made in Thailand, Bali and Ethiopia, and also local handicrafts that Maria went to get personally.
Maria's ideal dream is to combine ecology and humanitarian work, as it is part of the same target of making our world a planet with future!
